If cared for properly, our hammocks will provide you with years of comfort. A few simple precautions will save you any hassles in the future

GET INTO A HAMMOCK

Sit with your back to the hammock, as if you are about to sit on a chair. Reach behind you and spread out the hammock before sitting. This ensures you make full use of the space and your weight is distributed evenly. Now sit down and lay back NEVER CLIMB IN FEET FIRST.

GET OUT OF A HAMMOCK

Swing your legs over the side and sit up. Then standing hold the edge the hammock and push yourself up and off.

FINDING AN ANGLE

The most comfortable way to sit in a hammock is at an angle. This allows you to lie flat with better distribution of weight, lessening tension, and supporting your back for complete comfort. Some of the wide hammocks (Mayan) are best when lying across the center. Double hammocks can sit two people in a variety of positions. You can experiment and find your favourite.

MAYAN HAMMOCKS
These hammocks are made from either a fine or thick woven cotton string. They are an open weave, which makes them relatively easy for them to catch on sharp objects like buckles, buttons, or even rings. Make sure to take care when getting in and out of them. This fabric is incredibly soft and deceivingly strong. Due to the fact that there is so much length of string in these hammocks, the larger ones can hold an entire family! If left outside in the sun for any period of time, these hammocks will fade. Alternatlively if left in the rain, the colours may 'bleed' into each other.

So, how do you care for them?

The simple answer to that, is to bring them inside with you after you have finished using them. If you wouldn't like to sit in a thunderstorm, hailstorm or the blazing sun, chances are that your hammock wouldn't either. Keeping your rope tied around the tree or beam with an "S" Hook or spring attatched makes it simple to take your hammock up and down. Then they can be stored in a cupboard or on a shelf inside.
